This quarter our Cadillac office is raising money and Christmas presents for Project Christmas! Project Christmas has a variety of fundraisding opportunities and events for families in need. They collect gifts, money, and food donations to go towards families in need though a collaborative community-wide effort. Gift tags are given to local businesses who display trees that have different age groups and gender on them and are collected on December 6th to prepare for a shopping day. On December 8th the families who were registered through Love in the name of Christ or Friend’s Ministry come and pick out a gift for each family member. Additionally food packages are put together for each family registered.

They were very happy to see so many gifts and donation. We raised a total of $333.41 for Project Christmas!

More than 70% of patients are diagnosed by age two. More than 45% of the CF patient population is 18 or older. The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is in the late 30’s.

Since 1955 the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been fighting to find a cure. One of the fundraisers that is done by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the Great Pumpkin Pin Up Program. Pumpkins are sent to businesses to sell for a minimum contribution of $1.00. The names of the members who purchased pumpkins are then written on them and displayed around the business.

The Reed City Office of West Michigan Credit Union raised $250.00 towards the cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In honor of Susan P Wheatlake Women’s Cancer and Wellness fund our Big Rapids office will be raising money for this cause during the entire month. We will kick it off by having a PINK bake sale on October 5th. October 12th we will be having PINK popcorn, and closer to Halloween we will be having a PINK pumpkin theme! We will also be selling PINK bracelets and PINK sugar hand scrub, please contact our Big Rapids Office for more details.

“Thank you for your generous gift of $1035 in support of Paint Big Rapids Pink, to the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer and Wellness Fund, an endowment of the Mecosta County Medical Center Foundation. The Wheatlake Cancer Center helps women, men, children, families and caregivers in our region who are affected by a cancer diagnosis. Visitors to the Wheatlake Center have access to its lending library and Wellness Boutique. Your generosity will help to ensure that the materials and support that we provide to patients and their families are current and meet their needs for information and assistance as they battle their disease.

Your support is a wonderful source of encouragement to others who may be considering a gift to the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer and Wellness Fund. Big Rapids is fortunate to have caring and committed local business leaders. As we work together to ensure the availability of regional cancer and wellness services, thank you for making a different in the lives of people when they need help the most.”

Sincerely,
Thomas Hogenson, RV
